Time With God For Mothers - Book Review

Disclaimer: I received the following product(s) in exchange for my review. All opinions my own.

Time With God For Mothers is a devotional book written by Jack Countryman. This book is so sweet and holds great reading. Different reminders throughout, that God is always here for us; That He never leave us and we can always rely on Him to supply our needs.

All the way through, in reading this, I kept thinking about my mom and how great this book would be for her. She's been dealing with a lot lately and I really think this book will help her, with her place in life right now. I will be passing it on to her to read :) And hope that it touches her heart. It's always good to have a reminder that God will take care of us, and we just need faith to keep going.

You can find Time With God For Mothers available for purchase on Amazon, in Kindle, Hardback, or Paperback.

I got to review Yanni's new CD "Truth of Touch" through One2One Network.
I have never heard of Yanni before but I LOVE it!! His music is so beautiful. It sets such a sweet and calming atmosphere in my home and was really fun to listen to while cooking dinner. I love his music. He is a very talented man and I would recommend him to anyone who is looking for some relaxing music to hear. I am interested in hearing more of his music and others like him!

SC Johnsons Smart & Easy Spring Cleaning

I wrote previously, that I received the SC Johnson's Smart And Easy Spring cleaning Campaign kit from Bzzagent. I got to use these products, since I did my spring cleaning today! Each product has helped make it so much more fun!

The glade plug is refreshing my bathroom... Pledge has cleaned my table wonderfully and left a delicious lemon smell which is very similar to the smell of jelly beans... The candle brings spring sensations in and cleaning my bathroom is now more fun with the foaming bubbles and toilet cleanser! I also did 4 loads of laundry!! And cleaned my entire home. Too bad I didn't get any other samples for things like vacuuming and laundry ;) But I am so happy with the kit I got!! I love every bit of it and each item definitely made my spring cleaning that much more enjoyable.

I also got to try out a Swiffer sweeper/mop. I have been wanting to try this out for awhile now and it was on sale so my hubby got it for me :) I have to say though...I am not very pleased with it :( Everyone made it look so awesome and like it worked wonders...Well...It didn't work so well for me. The cloths for the sweeping part, do not pick up the fuzz very well. I still had to use a regular broom to get the last pieces. The mopping part on the other hand, I loved it! The smell of the mop pad was very nice and I loved that I could scrub the edges of the trim around the walls. It may have been disappointing for the sweeper, but I think I can cope with it as a mop :-)

Richer Than 75 Percent of The World

I recently read a book written by Joyce Meyer titled "Eat The Cookie...Buy The Shoes" and I really enjoyed what she had to say. I wanted to share a piece she wrote:

"If you have food, clothes and a place to live, you are richer than 75 percent of the world. If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, or spare change at home, you are amongst the top 8 percent of the world's wealthiest people."

This really makes you think about the life you're living. We all take things for granted, we all want more then we have, we've all done this before. But there are people out there who don't have half the stuff we do... it really makes you think about it.

We are all blessed in one way or another. I am so grateful for the life I'm given.

Whats something you are grateful for today?

A Conversation with God - Book Review

The book, "A Conversation With God: For Women" written by Marcia Ford, answers many questions you wish you could ask God, and gives you a better understanding on how God would respond to those questions! I picked up a lot more information from this book, then I ever had and I found it so helpful that she lists the Bible verses, in the Notes, at the back of the book. I browsed through the titles before I started reading, which made me look forward to getting to the ones I was most interested in. I believe each chapter was meant for somebody and I hope everyone can get a better understanding and sense of peace from this book.

The main chapter that stood out most to me was chapter 40, on trusting someone who has betrayed you. When you've been hurt by people, trust becomes a hard issue for you to work out, but God's message was "When you let go of painful situations and place them in My hands, I take them and mold them into an entirely new opportunity for you to mature in your faith and trust Me in a deeper way, based on what you experienced with Me and learned from Me in this process. And then you can take that-for example, the comfort I gave you during the healing process-And use it to minister to others in pain. Don't let the experience go to waste; use it to show others where to find the healing they need." (quote from Marcia Ford on page 193-194, chapter 40) So I can take what I have learned from my past, and from how God has began to heal me, and use that to help others understand that God can heal them too! I recommend you check this book out, you just might love it :)

Chocolate Cake In A Mug+Recipe

What a delicious fun way to make cake when you don't want to spend all your time in the kitchen!
Make a chocolate Mug cake!!
Batter should look like this

THINGS YOU NEED:
Coffee Cup
2 Hot Cocoa Packets
Cooking spray
3 TBS spoons oil
2 TBS Flour
1 Egg
A splash of vanilla (optional)
Whisk
Butter knife
Toothpick for testing
And a microwave :)

First you spray the inside of your coffee cup with the cooking spray (can do a butter wipe down if you do not have spray), Dump in the oil, flour, both bags of cocoa mix, the egg and a splash of vanilla if chosen, and whisk well. Making sure there's no clumps :) Then you just put it in the microwave for 3 MINUTES-no more, and its done! You can poke a toothpick in the middle to be sure, like I did :P And use a knife to cut around the edges so the cake can come out of the cup easily. It makes a pretty good amount in my opinion. I cut mine in 3rds and drizzled chocolate syrup over mine and added strawberries. Yum! I think it would be good with really any kind of syrup/fruit.

Watching it cook in the microwave..intense! lol you think it will boil over but it doesn't! You can put a plate under the cup just in case though, if you'd like :)

Dumped out and cut in half to make two cakes

Drizzle with chocolate syrup and top with sliced strawberries.
And the finished piece! Deliciousness :)

Lazarus Awakening - Book Review

To be honest, I'm at loss for words on this book. It was very hard for me to get into, in the beginning, but about half way through, I started to hear what what the words were saying. Joanna Weaver, the author of Lazarus Awakening, has put the story of Lazarus into a different perspective, pulling verse after verse from the Bible, making it all more understandable. She covered a lot of points and good information that I think is good for any person to read! One of the main things that stood out to me the most was her writing on God wanting a relationship with us. That He longs for our attention. Our friendship. A quote from Lazarus Awakening: "Christ still longs for a genuine friend. A real, true-blue, when-the-chips-are-down kind of friend. A friend who cares about what He cares about. A friend who looks to bring joy and comfort to His heart, with no strings attached. No hidden agendas. No secret wish lists." I want a friend like that! I have a hard time making true friends and It's almost as if, through this book, God was telling me to be His friend. An amazing epiphany. Joanna Weaver covers a lot of helpful areas in this book and I would recommend it to anyone looking to learn more or get closer to God. I will end this review with another wonderful quote from her book:

"Value people highly. People are true treasures of life, worth nurturing and investing in, for they are the only thing on this earth we can possibly take with us when we leave."
