Donkey X Movie Review

Donkey X is an animated children's film based on a 400 year old classic Spanish tale called "Don Quijote de la Mancha.

It is a story about a donkey named Rucio, who is the most brave, adventurous, and mischievous donkey in the land of Castile; who tells the true story about Don Quixote and his quest to battle the Half Moon Knight, and over come many dangerous obstacles along the way.

I found this movie to be alright. My 5 year old son didn't care too much for it though. It had some humor to it, especially with the Rooster that followed the journey with Quixote, and his fight with the lion. I loved the Donkey in this, striving to be like a horse, yet seemed so much braver then the horses in this film. The donkey's looks reminded me a lot of Donkey from the movie, Shrek, but doesn't have them same character personality thankfully :) There are some suggestive scenes I believe could have been left out, such as flaunting of the breast cleavage, the horse urinating and making silly 'ooh & ahh' sounds, and just after, the rooster falls into the puddle of urine...An interesting movie all together though, I would say suitable for specific audiences, and as the rating suggests, use parental guidance.

Donkey X is rated PG for mild language, some rude humor, and violence and runs about 90 minutes. It is available in English, Spanish and French language tracks and includes a Trailer.

You can find Donkey X at most Red Box locations, Target, Walmart, and Amazon.com

Always Infinty Pad Review

Always Infinity Pad's are overnight pads with a super absorbent protection to keep you dry all night. It has two layers of foam; the top layer absorbs fast and the bottom layer stores and distributes throughout. In the middle are tiny holes that work like tunnels and channel fluid to the back of the pad, away from you. The bottom of the pad has form fitting grooves that trap fluid and help stop leaks no matter what you're doing! And the wings on the side not only hold the pad in place, but help holding leaks as well.

I found these pads to be extremely gigantic! Making them rather awkward and uncomfortable.
I had to measure the size of them and compare them with my usual Stayfree Regular With Wings pads just to show how big they really are lol. They're a whopping 12 inches. That's 4 inches larger then my usual's..so you can see where the discomfort comes from ;) I do like that they are so thin, if the size was right, you'd barely even notice it there!

I've heard some great stories of these pads, they work well for some and not for others.
It's all in the persons preference really.

You can check out Always' website HERE for occasional free samples.

Smitty Movie Review

Smitty, starring Peter Fonda, Mira Sorvino and Louis Gossett Jr., is a very heart felt movie for the family to see together.

It is about a single mom who is raising her 13 year old son alone. He is quite the handful, upset with his life, moving from place to place, getting into trouble. He pulled one last straw and ended up in court with the judge giving the option of spending 3 years in Juvenile Detention or 3 months with his grandfather he has never met. This decision was hard on the mom as well, because she hadn't seen her father in over 13 years, causing a lot of tension and bad background between the two. The boy unhappily ended up choosing to stay the Summer with his grandfather, who lives in Iowa on a farm. He was very mouthy and disrespectful but sure enough, the grandfather put him in line.  After some bickering and rebellion from the boy, things finally started looking up for him, including a better behavior. Developing relationships with each other, the pet dog, and a town friend, the boy was learning some long needed lessons and responsibility.

I do not want to give the whole movie away but I really enjoyed watching this. There were the ups and downs of drama, great lessons, and some sad parts :( Smitty made me want to own a pet dog even more lol... Great movie overall, except I would have been happier if the sad parts were left out, but that's the drama for ya ;) I recommend everyone to watch this. Maybe not the littler kids though. But it is a great film!

Smitty runs about 94 minutes long as is rated PG for mild thematic material and some language. It includes a piece on the making of Smitty and the movies official trailer.

You can find Smitty at most Red Box locations, Target, Walmart, and Amazon.com

Freddy Frogface Movie Review

Freddy Frogface is another animated children's film based on the story of a 10 year old boy and his friends who are facing the world, growing older, and dealing with a mean, town bully, named Freddy.

A circus comes to the small town where the kids live and excites a boy named Victor, who wants to perform in the talent show with his dog Sausage, who can do great tricks! Freddy finds out and decides he wants to take over and do the act himself! He does the unthinkable, stealing poor Sausage, and tries to, dangerously win, the talent show.

Freddy Frogface is another movie my son has added to his collection :) He finds this movie so hilarious and entertaining. I enjoyed the animation style of this film and found some humor to it. Definitely seems to be more of a boy movie though :) My favorite part was when Freddy, of course being the bully he is, stole Victor's frog and tried lying about it. Freddy was getting caught in the act of bullying and ended up accidentally putting the frog in his mouth! When he was asked to tell the truth, he continued to mumble his lie, as the frog was trying to jump its way out of the mouth. Eventually the frog jumped out and everyone gave him the name "Freddy Frogface"....hence the title of the movie :)

There are some questionable parts in this film...one I really did not care for was when Freddy captured Sausage, Victor's pet dog. He put him in a bag and the puppy was yelping and squirming. It was a sad image to see and I feel the movie didn't really teach the children to not bully others, as I had hoped it would. Also on the cover, it says "Heroes come in all sizes!" which made me think the film would be about Victor saving the day. To me, it seems more that the film is about the conflicts between Freddy & the children.

Freddy Frogface is a rated PG, for language, mild bullying, and rude humor. It runs about 85 minutes long. And includes a downloadable activity kit, trailer, and the making of Freddy Frogface.

You can find Freddy Frogface at most Red Box locations, Target, Walmart, and Amazon.com

They even come in waterproof.  Baby bottles, shoes, lunch boxes, clothing...So many things to label!  They even have labels you can iron on into your children's clothing! They are a great idea for labeling lunchboxes with the child's allergy printed on them..you can even use them for labeling electronics. Kiara The Brave Movie Review

Kiara The Brave-living in the land of Dreamzone. A place that is peaceful and magical, a kingdom ruled by King Maximus who is Princess Kiara's father.

Kiara the Brave will find she needs to use her courage, as Dreadmis, who is King Maximus' evil brother, is trying to destroy Dreamzone and take over the throne as king. Dreadmis is very dark and eery, which is where the scary scenes come in. For instance, in the beginning, two little dragon creatures were making a potion, a scary Dracula face comes out into the air. The evil sided characters are a bit gruesome. Dreadmis makes up a formula to make a boy, who begins as a baby, named Super Kloud, who he wants to help over rule the thrown. Dreadmis finds that Super Kloud wasn't good enough and wanted him destroyed. The two lizards decided to keep the baby and he grows into a boy who is a good person. This boy becomes best friends with Kiara and helps her save King Maximus, who was captured and imprisoned. Kiara is determined to bring her father to throne safely, and restore the harmony back to Dreamzone.

I found this movie to be...interesting... Not quite one I would purchase myself, but I know there are some children or parents that might enjoy this style of film. I do not recommend it for children under 5, as it does have some scary scenes and images. In the first half of the movie, I felt it was here and there, not piecing together as well as it could have. It kind of reminded me of a children's version of the Greek Mythology Gods. It did have some humor though! :)

This film includes a slide show, trailer and a downloadable activity kit. It is rated PG and runs about 80 minutes long.

You can find Kiara The Brave at most Red Box locations, Target, Walmart, and Amazon.com

Space Dogs! Movie Review

Space Dogs is an animated children's movie that was originated in Russia. It is based on the true story about Belka and Strelka, the real life dogs, that were sent to space in 1960.

It begins with one dog doing a Circus act, that ended up going wrong and causes her to leave the circus...where she meets up with a stray dog and a rat. They get captured and sent to space camp where they are trained and worked hard to become Space Dogs.

   Very cute movie for kids. My son just loves watching it and I enjoy getting to spend quality movie time with him :) I made some homemade puppy pop tarts to go with it :) {all you do is take pre made pie crust, roll it a little bit thinner then it comes, cut your shapes and add your fillings [I made a cinnamon caramel glaze], then cook! Yum}

Great entertainment for kids. It includes a slide show, trailer and a downloadable activity kit. It is rated G and runs about 88 minutes long.

You can find Space Dogs at most Red Box locations, Target, Walmart, and Amazon.com

Cheesy Potato Wedges

I came across this post on pincookie, and found Cheesy Potato Wedges...they sounded soo good I just had to make them! The secret is in the sauce. for real. The sauce is what made these things good. Seriously. I ended up eating a baked potato for lunch for the next few days until this sauce was used up..it was that good! And it's super easy!

To make the sauce, you just need to mix together:
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup ranch dressing
1/4 cup milk
(I added some Cajun seasoning also)

You have your potatoes, washed already, peeled or unpeeled-whichever you prefer- and you thinly slice them up. Lay them on a greased cookie sheet-site calls for olive oil but I just sprayed my pan with Crisco butter flavored cooking spray and then sprayed some more on the top of the potato slices. I sprinkled a little bit of black pepper and some garlic powder (next time i will do salt instead), I baked them in the oven at 350 degrees until the potatoes were soft with a slightly golden brown to them. I then pulled them out of the oven and spread the special sauce across the potatoes. Then sprinkled bacon bits, green peppers and shredded cheddar cheese across it all. I put it back in the oven til all was melted together and that's all there is to it!  Came out so delicious!! Love this sauce and will use it in the future too. GREAT for baked potatoes!

One Month To Live - Book Review

A 30 day challenge: One Month To Live is written by Kerry & Chris Shook, and it will have you questioning how you have been living, yourself.

"Teach us to number our days and recognize how few they are,
help us to spend them as we should." Psalm 90:12

Want to live a no-regrets lifestyle? Here's a great start. This devotional-like book will help you turn your life around in 30days. In the beginning, you look at your calendar and circle 30 days from the day you begin to read it, to see how much your life has changed since you began reading. For me, this sounded so amazing to do, but I have a hard time reading just a chapter a day, in books; I always end up wanting to read as much as I can in one sitting. This is what caused my review on the book to be so behind. You would think it would have been the other way around though lol. I made sure to jot down helpful information as I went, to be forever reminded of the great points the author's wrote, so I will be sharing bits throughout this post.

I enjoyed reading 'One Month to Live' for the most part. I like that the book is based on a challenge for yourself and even has a place to sign your name at the beginning, to commit to live the next 30 days of reading-as if they were your last- so you can experience life to the fullest. Maybe this is where I went wrong..I never signed my named to fully commit, I suppose. >< I also like that at the end of each chapter, there is a set of activities or questions to discuss with yourself, so it's best to keep a journal along with the book :) One of the activities was to write down 5 things you want to change about yourself. I'm sure this is an easy activity for most people. The world is a sad place where not many people love themselves. But if you read through this book and follow the activities, I'm sure you will find things changing for the better; finding happiness and enjoying yourself.

"Life isn't measured by the number of breaths we take,
but by the moments that take our breath away."

I especially liked a story they shared, about a boy who found a butterfly chrysalis on a tree branch.  He thought the butterfly was struggling to get out of its chrysalis so he decided to help it out, with his pocketknife. He ended up pulling the butterfly out by its wings and holding it in his hand, thinking it would fly away, but it didn't, it died instead. The butterfly had to struggle out of its chrysalis itself, in order to live. I like this story because it' showing us, that we too have our struggles, but we get through them and live. If we have someone doing everything for us, trying to make our life perfect and pretend the bad isn't their, it just won't happen. "The key is to recognize that God doesn't cause the problem, but He allows it in order to strengthen our wings so we can soar to our full potential." I know there are people who do not believe this, or asks 'how can God let this happen?' and I understand, when it's a time of hurt, it doesn't make any sense to us and doesn't feel fair. But in the end, it's building up to the life God has planned for us. "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

If you ever come across this book, pick it up, check it out.
You never know how it could change your life :)

BiC Soleil Savvy Shavers Review

I love getting to try out new shavers because I am always looking for which shaver can give the closest shave, and leave my skin feeling soft! This time around, I tried BiC Soleil Savvy shavers.

I love how these shavers are disposable BUT instead of throwing the whole shaver away, you buy the shaver that comes with a a refillable cartridge system so you just pop on a new blade each time it's needed! Imagine the savings!

The Bic Soleil Savvy shaver comes with the shaver handle-which has a rubber grip for extra control- and four refill cartridges. Each cartridge has triple blades and 2 Vitamin E lubricating strips across the tops. The cartridges are pivoting heads to give you a closer shave. And you can find them ate most grocery stores, drug stores, and mass retailers like Walmart, at approximately $7.49. Using a $3 off coupon (also received) will make them only $4.49!! Great deal.

I was excited to try these shavers because there's so much greatness to them! But...I was a little dissapointed. I found them leaving my legs stubbier then I would like! And they gave me razor burn :( I think I will be sticking to my BiC Soleil Shavers with 4 blades instead :) But I will continue to try these blades and see if maybe I change my mind ;)

Gentle Naturals-Baby Therapeutics Review

Have you ever tried any products from Gentle Naturals Baby Therapeutics?  I received 3 of their products to review, which are:
  • Baby Eczema Relief Wash
  • Baby Eczema Relief Cream
  • Baby Cradle Cap Treatment

The Baby Eczema Relief Wash is made for babies with Eczema, to clean, moisturize and soothe dry, itchy skin. It's made with natural ingredients, including Aloe, Calendula, JoJoba and Vitamin's A,D and E as well as Lavender and Chamomile to help the baby stay calm and relaxed. It is dye-free and tear-free too, so that's a plus! To relieve baby's skin, add a few droplets to baby's bath water, it will help with the effects of Eczema, and leave their skin moisturized.

Eczema Relief Wash is best followed with the Baby Eczema Relief Cream. The cream will help lock in moisture in the baby's skin as well as prevent recurrence of dry skin. It also contains Aloe, Calendula, JoJoba and Vitamin's A,D and E and Chamomile.  The cream has no fragrance and is slightly greasy when rubbed on, but once it is fully rubbed into the skin, the greasy feeling is gone. Only a small amount is needed so it should last awhile.

Eczema is no fun, especially when it's flared up. I know of at least 5 people who have Eczema, ranging from baby to adult. Even my son developed it shortly after birth, but thankfully it's been under control since he was about 2! Everyone is different, but if it is taken care of, it will feel so much better!

And lastly, The Cradle Cap Care. A lot of babies tend to get Cradle Cap and honestly, it's not a very pretty thing. That's when Cradle Cap Care comes in handy! Some natural ingredients inside are Calendula, JoJoba and Vitamin's A,D and E. Seeing a pattern? :) Gentle Naturals make their products with natural products!-hence the name ;) The Cradle Cap Care box comes with a soft brush to comb out the crusty scales, once the fragrance & grease-free lotion goes on. Great product for Cradle Cap. When my son was a baby, he had Cradle Cap, and we did it the old fashion way...a little bit of Olive Oil and his baby brush. It worked but I would have loved to try the Gentle Naturals Cradle Cap Kit!

If you'd like some great coupons for Gentle Naturals products, go HERE

I received Gentle Naturals Products through the Family Review Network, in exchange for my honest review.

Toothpaste to DeFog Mirrors?

Have you ever researched on unusual uses for something you have extra of, or no use for?
Everyone has right?

In my case it was toothpaste. A flavor my little man didn't like. It was the kids new Aquafresh kind. And daddy ended up buying him a new Sponge-bob Berry flavor to replace the one lil man didn't like...so... I wanted to make "Elephant Toothpaste" but realized it doesn't even require toothpaste to make this! So I researched what I could use the toothpaste on, on something new I've never done, and I came across mirror defogger.

Everything I read said that toothpaste could defog mirrors!
So I gave it a shot.

...........

I do not recommend this.

.............

I did as said... Put toothpaste on mirror... "Got Fog?" You can see the mirror didn't fog, right up close to each letter! Does it possibly work??

So I did as the instructions said..to wipe the tooth paste all over the mirror and wipe off and it should not fog up. Well...let me just say...it was a waste of my time. The mirror still fogged up and it was a PAIN trying to wipe the toothpaste off the mirror!! I had to wash it several times until it cleared, and even then, I had to go over it again because it smeared. Oh well. at least I learned :)

And ended up making a nice little note to myself in the process...lol.

But who knows...maybe it wasn't the right kind of toothpaste!?

Mott's Fruit Snack Review!

Pssst...

Great news! Pssst General Mills sent me a delicious package containing two boxes of Mott's Medleys fruit snacks!!!
Each box a different flavor: Assorted Fruit and Berry.
They also sent me several 60 cent off coupons to share!!

I love Mott's. They have tasty apple juice the my son also loves so we knew we would have to love their fruit snacks too! The fruit snacks are made with real fruit and vegetable juice, as well and natural flavors and colors. In each box, there are 10 packages of fruit snacks. They are very tasty too!! We like the Assorted Fruit kind best. I LOVED the grape and carrot ones most. They are so good and a healthier version of normal fruit snacks.
Going to be a great staple in our snack pile ;)

Mott's Fruit snacks & Coupons were provided to me at no charge, by General Mills through MyInsite.

Great Baby Deals, Less then $3!!!

I got another great deal!

I received a booklet of coupons from Comforts for Baby, filled with a lot of freebie coupons. With these coupons, I got great deals!!! Another baby shower gift for less then $10..in this case though..it's less then $3 :)

I used my coupons and got:
  • A box of  82 Diapers *free*
  •  Strawberry Apple Flavored Little Puff Snacks *free*
  • Teething Ring *free*
  •  Bottle Washer $2.29

Since I do not have a baby at the moment (my baby is now 5!) these work great for a baby shower gift for my cousin who's having her first baby next month! I bought bigger diapers because everyone always gets the tiny diapers for the baby to use when it's born, but never ones to grow into..so she can use these later on, same with the puffs :)

Can't beat the price though!! I hope I get good deals like these when we have another baby!!

Star Wars Darth Maul Costume Review!!

If you remember awhile back I was able to review
the Batman costume for my son, through Wholesale Halloween Costumes
{If you don't remember, feel free to check it out!}
A few weeks ago, I got to choose another costume to review,
and my son chose Darth Maul.
This Darth Maul costume was picked from  Real Star Wars Costumes in a size small, which is a 4-6. It's made with Polyester and comes with a plastic Darth Maul Mask, a hooded tunic, attached shirt, waist sash,
with printed belt and pants with attached boot tops.
Just pair it with your lol ones under clothes and some black boots and
It's a full costume! All you need to buy separately is the Light Saber!

I feel this costume was made a bit better then the previous Batman costume my son received.
I didn't find any loose threads or holes in this one so that was great! :) The only downfall I came across was, I feel the mask is made very flimsy. Kids are rough so I would have loved for the mask to be a little more durable. My son's mask has a few cracks in it, after taking it off and on for a few days lol...
but it is still useable. He's been having loads of fun as Darth Maul and
was very happy to add this costume to his set!

My Perky Jerky Sample Review

I received a free sample from Perky Jerky! So happy to receive it because we love jerky here at home. Especially soft jerky, and thankfully Perky Jerky was really soft! It had a great taste...not too spicy and not too sweet. A good flavor! It's made with Guarana, full of protein and made with no preservatives or nitrates. You can receive a free sample of Perky Jerky to try as well, just "like" Perky Jerky on Facebook and sign up to receive it!

My Corona Sombrero Win

Awhile back, Corona was doing this fun app on Facebook where you do different challenges and earn points to trade in for different items. I received a good amount of points and wanted to save them for something awesome, but then Corona decided they were ending the app soon, so I needed to trade in my points for an item quick. I ended up getting a silly sombrero! Haha, It works :)
