Donkey X Movie Review

Donkey X is an animated children's film based on a 400 year old classic Spanish tale called "Don Quijote de la Mancha.

It is a story about a donkey named Rucio, who is the most brave, adventurous, and mischievous donkey in the land of Castile; who tells the true story about Don Quixote and his quest to battle the Half Moon Knight, and over come many dangerous obstacles along the way.

I found this movie to be alright. My 5 year old son didn't care too much for it though. It had some humor to it, especially with the Rooster that followed the journey with Quixote, and his fight with the lion. I loved the Donkey in this, striving to be like a horse, yet seemed so much braver then the horses in this film. The donkey's looks reminded me a lot of Donkey from the movie, Shrek, but doesn't have them same character personality thankfully :) There are some suggestive scenes I believe could have been left out, such as flaunting of the breast cleavage, the horse urinating and making silly 'ooh & ahh' sounds, and just after, the rooster falls into the puddle of urine...An interesting movie all together though, I would say suitable for specific audiences, and as the rating suggests, use parental guidance.

Donkey X is rated PG for mild language, some rude humor, and violence and runs about 90 minutes. It is available in English, Spanish and French language tracks and includes a Trailer.

You can find Donkey X at most Red Box locations, Target, Walmart, and Amazon.com
