Name Your Very Own Star

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

Ever since I watched A Walk To Remember, years ago, I wanted to have a star named after me. I never thought the chance would come, because I thought it would be something that is really expensive. And lets face it...there's more important things to spend your money on, then naming a star. But then I found out about "Name A Star"!  You can have a star named after you or a loved one, at a low price of just $12.99! It's cost efficient and totally worth it!

I was given the chance to review "Name A Star" through Tomoson, and decided I would give this chance to my son. He is 6 years old and loves anything about the solar system
so I thought he deserved this more then me :)

He decided to name his star after him, with the words "Star of Might" attached. We received an email with a printable certificate stating the stars location of longitude and latitude, and that it has been named what we chose.

To view our star, we had to download Google Earth first. The directions on the site were a little confusing to me, so I had my tech-savvy husband help, and he found it shortly after. The place where the pin sits (bottom left photo) makes it seem like our star is off somewhere next to the hot pink flash, so at first I was bummed the star that we named isn't visible because you zoom up and see nothing. But after looking at other peoples stars, I got to wondering if the pink flash is actually our star and the pin is just slightly off? If that's the case, then it's fine because our star would then be visible. I just was thinking we would get a star like the site shows, with the pin being directly on the star.

In the end, all that matters is my son is happy. This was something for him to experience, and hold on to as he grows older. Someday he can show his kids, and his kids can show theirs :) It's an awesome thing to be able to say, "When I was little, I got a star named after me!" How cool is that?
Naming a Star is a great opportunity to come across. There's many occasions that would make this the perfect gift to give. Birthdays, Christmas, Anniversaries...can you imagine being proposed to in a star? That would be so romantic. With Valentines Day coming up, purchasing a star for your loved one just might be the perfect gift! You can also personalize your star, not only by naming it, but also writing a personalized message to go with it. This might be an opportunity you don't want to miss :)

"Keep your head up, reach for the highest, and never give up."

I would love nothing more than to be able to name a star after my beautiful 7 yr old niece, London....she loves outer space, stars, and the planets....she doesn't have a mom or dad in her life, just me, her aunt and grandparents....so this would really be a dream come true for her and me to see the joy and happiness on her face. Please pick us...fingers crossed
