Seventh Generation Zero Waste Challenge Win

I recently took the Seventh Generation Zero Waste Challenge, where me and my family try to be waste free for a week, and share an image of the trash we accumulated during that week. It was actually easier than expected, and a great way to be mindful of what we are using/wasting. I always like finding ways to reuse different items, to get the most life out of them before they go to the waste facilities. Especially finding new uses for jars and crafting with recyclables! Anyway, through doing this and sharing my outcome, I won a whole package filled several Seventh Generation products!!

A wonderful set of Paper Towels, Laundry Soap, Dish Soap, Toilet Paper, Hand Soap and a refill...All fantastic products that are better on the environment. I am so grateful for receiving this, thank you Seventh Generation, for all you do! We love your products!

Daily Goodie Box - November 2019

Disclaimer: I received the following product(s) in exchange for my review. All opinions my own.

For the month of November, I received an awesome Daily Goodie Box filled with all kinds of fun things! Keeping me hydrated, healthy, and happy!

Hydralyte - Electrolyte Solution: These drinks are great at keeping the body hydrated after being sick. They're chocked full of electrolytes and help replenish your system after bouts of heavy sweating, puking, and diarrhea. I received a Hydralyte in the flavor orange, and though the flavor reminds me of cough medicine with a hint of salt, it seemed to re-hydrate me pretty quickly. I like that this drink has 75% less sugar than other electrolyte drinks out there. A great one to keep on hand during flu season. You can even enjoy a bottle, after an intense workout, to replenish all the water you lost during a sweat-out!

Teaonic - MOJO Herbal Wellness Shots: I was sad to see my wellness shot leaked out in my box, but thankfully I was still able to try it for this review. I received the Digestion shot, which is a mix of herbs, juices, and plant extracts to help clean the gut from inside out. This shot contains Aloe Leaf, Ginger, Cinnamon, Cranberry, Lemon, and Hibiscus. I love that it is supposed to help with digestion, but if I'm being completely honest, this drink was nasty. I couldn't bring myself to drink more than a sip haha...I guess that's why they call it a shot. So you can drink it fast!

Sir Kensington’s - Pizza Ranch Dressing: I was really excited to see Pizza flavored ranch dressing in my box! Two ingredients that go well together, in my opinion. This dressing is great in salad, but also delicious to use as a dip for fries or drizzled across nachos. I love that it's made with Sunflower Oil, and that it's dairy free so even those with lactose allergies can indulge in it!

Susan Brown’s Baby - Sensitive Baby Diaper Therapy® Cream: Though I don't currently have a use for diaper cream, it's always nice to have some on hand during the cold winter season, if needed for wind burn and chafing. It's not just for babies! I do like that this one is made with natural botanics such as Calendula, Oats, Chamomile, and Shea Butter, so it's gentle on the skin and soothes as it moisturizes. It doesn't have a strong chemical scent like other diaper cream, which is great for sensitive noses!

WOLO WanderBar - Peanut Butter Protein Bar: Made with 16g of Protein, 11g of fiber, and 4g of sugar, this protein bar will be one you want to have with you on the go. The bar has a crispy bottom layer and a soft chewy top, giving your mouth an enjoyable texture to munch on. I enjoyed eating mine, though a bit chewy, it's not too sweet and has a decent taste. I would love to try some of their other flavors!

Aprati Foods - Frutati™ Hard Candy Assortments: I love these little hard candies! They're great to suck on when you're wanting something a little sweet with less sugar. My favorite is the Green Apple Mango flavor. I love that these candies are GMO free and contain no artificial flavors!

Green Goo - Peppermint Toothpaste: An all natural, plant based toothpaste that will clean your teeth without all the added chemicals. It will help soothe the gums and prevent plaque build up, while keeping your teeth bright and clean. I really didn't like the aftertaste this toothpaste gave. It left my mouth tasting like soap, which is odd because of the mint flavor this paste contained. Sadly, it's not a toothpaste I would want to continue using.

Que Bella - Peel Off Masks: I was most excited to receive these little face masks and enjoy some at home beauty treatments. I get to Refine with coffee, Exfoliate with Pumpkin Seed, and Energize with Lime & Mint! I love that these masks are enriched with natural ingredients and gentle on my skin. Each Pack smells delicious too! The Pumpkin Seed smelled like Marshmallows!!

I've enjoyed trying another batch of products and looking forward to the next! Would you like to try your in Goodie Box for free? Join the Daily Goodie Box to receive your own set of products to test!

Breakfast Stuffed Waffle Biscuits

Have you ever made biscuits in a waffle iron? They don't quite fit right, at least in my experience, but if you can get the biscuits to fit enough to bake inside, the end result is delicious!

I made Breakfast Stuffed Waffle Biscuits, filled with eggs, ham, pepperoni, and cheese. You want the eggs to be precooked, so I made little muffin eggs in the oven, beforehand, but you can also do scrambled.

You begin by taking a can of layered biscuits, so you can tear each biscuit apart, into two. Roll them flat, as flat as you can get them before they rip, then begin filling them with your eggs/meats ect. Top with the other layer you rolled and crimp the sides together.

Place in the center of your well greased waffle iron and use as your normally would. When the iron is done, so is your stuffed biscuit! It comes out beautifully, with a little crisp on the edges, and it tastes even better!!

This is such a quick and easy meal to make, and the biscuits can be filled with all kinds of things that suit your tastebuds. Just beware, it left my waffle iron a mess, so the cleanup is not so fun. This was probably due to the grease/sauce from the cheese/meat, leaking out and burning. I might have just stuffed the biscuits too full 😌🤭

Gracie Lou Wants A Zoo - Book Review

Disclaimer: I received the following product(s) in exchange for my review. All opinions my own.

Gracie Lou Wants A Zoo written by Shelly Roark, is an adorable Children's book, about a little girl named Gracie Lou, who really wants to own all the animals she can. Even though she already has a pet turtle named George, Gracie Lou asks her parents if she can have this animal or that, so she can have an indoor zoo! With each request, the parents respond with a reason why she cannot have the pet: not enough space, not enough water, or supplies for that animal, ect. Her father tells her she needs to be patient, and that God will take care of it when and if the time comes. Gracie Lou becomes tired of waiting and being patient, that she is becoming increasingly irritated. She falls asleep and dreams of owning all the animals she longs for. Her apartment home becomes so full of these pets, that she doesn't know what to do! At first it is fun, but quickly the situation becomes chaotic and messy! When Gracie Lou wakes up, she realizes that maybe she doesn't want all the animals at once, because of the responsibility and lack of space she has, she knew she couldn't care for them all. In the end, Gracie Lou learns to be content in what she has, and enjoy life as it is, being thankful every step of the way.

I love the moral of the story in this book. There's something we all want a little more of, and sometimes we too become irritable and impatient when we don't get our way. This cute story is a reminder that, even though we want something really bad and think it might be great, in the end, what we have now might actually be better than what we think could be more. It's a great story to teach children, to be grateful for what we have been given, and to enjoy each day with a full heart.

You can find Gracie Lou Wants A Zoo available for purchase on Amazon in Hardback or Paperback.
