The Love Note by Joanna Davidson Politano is a Victorian-era romance about a character named Willa Duvall who is a nurse that desires to become a doctor like her father, when all her father wants for her is to get married and settle down. After several denied marriage proposals, Willa retrieves to the desk in her room, and stumbles across an unopened lover letter that was hidden in the cracks of her desk. She traces the location to where the letter originated from, and decides to take up a nursing position in that same dwelling. The letter becomes misplaced and passed around to different people, all reaching each ones life a little differently. A mystery is left to be unraveled, and Willa is determined to figure it out.

This was an incredibly great read. I loved that it was set in a historical Victorian era, really forming a picture to the story. I loved reading about Willa's determination and inner strength she had, to see her goals come to pass, all while uncovering a lifelong mystery of love, lost and found. Her strong will and longing to find the original owner of the letter, leads you on an intriguing ride that leaves this wondering what will happen next! This is an excellent read, I definitely recommend it!

Making Gifts With Glass Bottle Cutting

If you're looking to get into a new hobby, check out Bottle Cutting! There are so many things you can make, from a cut and sanded bottle. Think: Vases, Candle Holders, Pendant Lights, and more!

I've always been intrigued by bottle cutting and making crafts and gift items with them, so it was pretty exciting to try out one of these pieces of equipment. The box came with everything you need, except the glass bottle(s), the water, and the containers needed to heat and hold said water. :)

I followed directions and scored the bottle where I wanted it cut, then dunked the bottle into hot water, then cool, as needed. It took quite a bit to figure out, as the water temperatures weren't exactly cooperating, but the glass begins cracking in boiling water at 200° and cool at 45°. Unfortunately the cracking continued past the score mark, making it break in the wrong spots. I will have to try it again once I have another bottle available. If it works right, these will turn out so cool and work great for so many different projects!

The Key to Love by Betty St. Amant is a contemporary romance about a girl named Bri who worked in the Pastry Puff, a little dessert cafe, that her mother worked in when she was younger. Bri lived for romance and all things Parisian, and dreamed of having a relationship like her parents had. Full of love and devotion, the most romantic story she'd ever heard. Until she came across some things in her mother's old chest, everything in her world she once knew, begins to change. During this time, Bri meets a man who is writing an article for the Pastry Puff. They rub each other the wrong way from the start, but everything around the town of Story begins to change. Will things change for Bri and the Pastry Puff too? Read to find out!

I enjoyed reading The Key to Love, and unfolding the story behind Bri's parents, the romance in the city, and hearing about all of the tasty treats that were made in the bakery. I must try a petit four sometime in my life now lol. But the overall read in this story was sweet and had it's moments of bitterness in all the right ways. It was nice to read about opposites attracting and having a bit of the characters past reflecting in her present day and future. It reminded me of a Hallmark movie, so if you enjoy those, you will love this book!

Pureauty Naturals Eye Cream, made with Hyaluronic Acid, Caffeine, and Cucumber Extract, is made to help diminish puffy eyes and dark circles giving them more of an awakened appearance. I have been using it for about a week now and noticed a slightly brighter look around my eyes but haven't noticed a change in the tired puffiness yet. I am not fond of the scent in this product but I like the pretty blue color! It absorbs into skin well too and a little goes a long way!
