"How I Taught My Kids to become RESPONSIBLE..." Book Review

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/81HabnqU39L._SL1500_.jpgJustin Kregger is an Expert Author of the best selling series
"How I Taught My Kids to..."
He is a husband and father to two young kids, and has published three other
"How I Taught..." books.
He recently contacted me to review his book:
"How I Taught My Kids to become RESPONSIBLE using simple household chores"

Mr. Kregger takes the complex topics in parenting, and breaks them down in to more simplified concepts, turning it to a short and to the point e-book, with great tips on how to teach your children responsibility. He talks about how many kids these days feel so entitled and that we as their parents are enabling them, by doing simple tasks that they should be doing themselves. Children are growing up, seeing that they can be "lazy" because mom (or dad) will do it all for them. When your children are little, it's easier to just get things done without them in the way, because it takes them twice as long to do something, that you can get done in 5 minutes! But if we don't bring the child up when it's young, we will have an even harder time teaching while it's older. Like Kregger says: "remember how important it is to set the foundation of hard work in the early years." It is very important to set the foundation in our children. When my son was younger, I encouraged him to pick up after himself when he made a mess. He is now 6 years old, and better then most kids his age, in keeping his room clean. He cleans up his messes without complaints because he knows it's his duty to. Kregger states that "So much of the problem stems from how kids are raised; from day one everything is done for them and they are not held responsible or accountable for their own actions. Kids are being raised to be dependent on others instead of being able to do the simplest things on their own." I totally agree with this. As a parent, we need to be the ones to teach our children the way to go. That is how they learn! In teaching them responsibility, you will also teach them independence, appreciation, and confidence.

This e-book is filled with helpful advice and would make a terrific book for first time parents, and even parents of older children. If you have awnry, entitled children, definitely read this book and follow through with Kregger's tips on teaching your child responsibility.
It will make a lifetime of a difference!

You can purchase the Kindle Edition of "How I Taught My Kids to become RESPONSIBLE using simple household chores" on Amazon for just $2.99, or if you have Prime, you can borrow it for free.

Red Leaf's: Caramel Matcha Tea Review

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.
Red Leafs Caramel Matcha is a tea blend of matcha (green tea) and caramel flavor, making a tea that is sweet enough to not need sugar added to it, yet tastes good enough to have as a stand-alone tea without having a biscuit or snack on the side. It is said to have a light, buoyant, and lingering taste that is sure to please.

The first thing I noticed when I opened the Caramel Matcha Tea powder, is though it smelt wonderful, the caramel scent overpowers the scent of the matcha. Because of this, it made me wonder if I would only taste caramel, but that wasn't the case. I first made the recommended Iced Caramel Matcha by adding 8oz of milk, a few ice cubes, and the 1/2 tsp. of Caramel Matcha to my blender. It came out really plain tasting. I couldn't even taste the Matcha or that strong smelling caramel! I was shocked, since its smell is so potent. I ended up adding in a frozen banana, a spoon of peanut butter, vanilla yogurt, and some cocoa to make it a delicious smoothie drink.

Then next day, I tried Caramel Matcha warm. This was better tasting, but the hot water didn't dissolve the matcha powder very well, so the drink had a powdery consistency. It wasn't until after, that I read on Red Leaf's site, that it recommends sifting the tea before adding it to the water, to prevent clumping, and I assume, the excess powder. I shared the Carmel Matcha with my mom, who loves Green Tea, and she said it's delicious! So it's really to each there own. It's not a bad tea,
but a taste one must get use to, I suppose.

*Caramel Matcha is made with 100% pure matcha. It does not contain any food coloring, artificial sweeteners,
preservatives, or MSG/Chemical additives.

Caramel Matcha is available for purchase at redleaftea.com
for as low as $15.99 for a 30g bag.

Red Leaf has a large variety of teas, so be sure you check out their webpage
There's a unique and delicious tea for everyone!

PREMIUM Solid Cordz 1 Foot Extension Review

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

We live in a technical world with so many plugins for this and that, our power strip becomes overwhelmed with the giant box plugs taking up space, leaving no room for the other plugs. Well Solid Cordz 1 Foot Extension cables will make our electric lives much simpler and more organized. These cords are 12 inches each and equipped with a 16AWG wire gauge, made to free up space on the power strip so you can get full use of your strips and outlets. This is a great set up for your office or home where you have a ton of things plugged in to a power strip; Very convenient, reducing clutter, and organizing your messy plug spot.

The idea of Solid Cordz is a great invention, freeing up the space in your power strip when you need to plug in big box plugs, But when I actually tried it out, I felt it looked even more cluttered then before. My set up looked nothing like the companies set up. (Company photo on the right, mine on the left) The Solid Cordz do not bend easily so they just kind of lay there. I realized afterward, that I could cut the tags off to look less cluttered, but it says do not remove tag, so I thought they needed to stay on lol. My husband said it's just like a tag on a pillow that you end up cutting off so I could cut them lol. The tags are just their warning for danger precautions.

Another way you can use Solid Cordz, is for the wall outlets!
Usually just one box plug will fit on a wall outlet,
but with Solid Cordz, you can now fit two in! (see photo to the right)
My only wish, is that the Solid Cordz were just an inch or so longer.
Because, if you can see in the photo,
the plugin on the right is dangling and can't quite touch the ground.
I feel it would be a bit safer if it reached the ground.
Though the Solid Cordz didn't quite organize my area as I would have liked, they will still come in handy when I need that extra foot of cord!

*Solid Cordz 1 Foot Extension Cables are Rated for 125 Volt/13 Amp applications and are available for purchase on Amazon for $14.99 for a pack of 5.
They also come with a no questions asked,
lifetime 100% money back guarantee.

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.
Santa's Beard is a Vegan, Kosher, and Gluten Free, handmade Organic Cotton Candy, spun and packaged on the day of shipping, keeping it fresh. It ships directly from Chico, California, only across the U.S.

Santa's Beard Cotton Candy is a great stocking stuffer idea. It's fun, cute and delicious! Since the cotton candy is white, it looks just like Santa's beard! It doesn't have dye that stains your little ones mouths so that's great! And it isn't quite as sweet. It is just as delicious though, and quite addicting I might add! ;)
A great gift idea for all cotton candy lovers.

It is available in a 4 1/2" x 6" clear plastic container stuffed full with 2 oz of fresh spun
Organic Vanilla Cotton Candy, a Santa's Beard Sticker, and a Festive Green or Red Bow!
~with a 4 to 8 week shelf life-- Unopened

Or a 2.75" x 9" Clear Cello Bag stuffed with 2 oz of fresh spun Organic Vanilla Cotton Candy,
a Santa's Beard Sticker, and a Festive Green or Red Ribbon!
~with a 2 to 4 week shelf life.

I love the cute poem they have that goes with:

"Santa's white beard grows more everyday.
But if it's too long, and gets caught on his sleigh,
He wouldn't be able to give presents that day.
So the elves work hard to keep the beard neat;
When one elf discovered "Hey, this beard is sweet!"
So the clever little elf, gathered the fluff,
And asked Santa Claus "Can we package this stuff?"
Santa said "Sure, that's a wonderful plan!
We'll stuff it in stockings across the land!"

You can purchase Santa's Bear Organic Cotton Candy on Etsy
for just $3.00 a 2 oz. tub or bag!

Children's Mucinex Multi-Symptom Cold Medicine Review

Little ones running around with coughs and colds? It's definitely that season again. This cold weather brings all kinds of sicky bugs, but I'm prepared this year! Smiley360 sent me a 4fl oz. bottle of
Children's Mucinex Multi-Symptom Cold Medicine,
ready to fight those cold symptoms!

Children's Mucinex Multi-Symptom Cold Medicine relives a child's worst cold symptoms with its mucus busting power, cough suppressant, and nasal decongestant. It relieves stuffy noses, breaks up all that irritating mucus, and controls the cough so your little one can get back to feeling happy and normal.

I have not had the opportunity to use Children's Mucinex yet, as my son has been healthy this season so far! (knock on wood) but I do know, we all tend to get yucky head colds around winter time so this will come in handy. I like that it includes a dosing cup, and that it contains triple symptom relief in just one dose! Children's Mucinex is sure to get those sickies away, and defeat little Junior Mucus, as cute as he may be ;)

*Children's Mucinex Multi-Symptom Cold Medicine is intended for the use in children ages of 4-12 years old. It is the #1 doctor recommended over the counter expectorant among Internists, General Practitioners, and Family Practitioners.

Children's Mucinex Multi-Symptom Cold Medicine is available in most grocery or pharmacy stores. It can also be purchased online at Mucinex.com through Amazon, Walmart, or CVS.
You can also follow Mucinex on Facebook and Twitter.

Cooking in my Crockpot

Awhile back, I cashed in my points with Neilsen and got myself a crockpot. I hadn't used it up until recently because I hadn't a clue how! I've never used a crockpot before. So I started looking around finding recipes and gave it a shot. I started out with making crockpot fresh from the garden (from a friend), green beans. It was so simple! I used water and beef broth for the liquid and added in some sliced onions. I let these beans marinate and cook in the crockpot for hours,
allowing my home to smell delicious. They came out surprisingly good!!

Next round, I made beef stew in the crockpot. I added in all my vegetables..potatoes, onions, peppers, and carrots... with some water mixed with BBQ sauce, then added in my roast and sprinkled on some pepper, onion powder and Cajun. I cooked it all day long and smelled wonderful! The meat came apart easily and looked a little dry, but it tasted great.

Most recently I made Kraft's Hickory BBQ Beef Recipe Maker Meal, but with pork instead. It came out just like pulled pork and was sooo good on hamburger buns!! I'm very grateful to have received the free coupon from Safeway & Kraft to try it out. Kraft has so many good ideas, I can't wait to try more of their Recipe Maker meals, and continue to use my crockpot!

Any yummy crockpot recipes you care to share?

Ham Pickle Pizza+Calzone

This may sound like one of the weirdest Pizza toppings,
but Ham and Pickles actually made a really great Pizza+Calzone!
I began by cooking up the following, in my Ozeri pan:
Cut up honey ham lunch meat, pickles cut in cubes, sliced red
and orange peppers, Cajun and black pepper for seasoning,
and Alfredo sauce poured over it all. I mixed this all together
until it marinated and got nice and warm.

While this mixed, I made my pizza+calzone crust and drizzled a little bit of Marinara and Alfredo sauce throughout. I only used a little since my Ham & Pickle mix would be saucy from the Alfredo. For the pizza crust, I prebaked before I added my ingredients to the top. When it was a slight golden tone, I added the ham/pickled ingredients to the top, then topped it with shredded cheddar cheese and baked again until it all melted together. For the calzone, I added all ingredients, folded it up into a giant calzone, and baked to completely cooked through.

Both came out equally delicious! I made so much there were next day leftovers!
*BUT.... sadly this meal only taste good fresh. (must be the pickles ;)

Root Touch-Up -Ends 12/15 - 4 Winners!

OraMD - Ends 12/30 - 3 Winners!

The Mouth Doctors: OraMD

OraMD is a 3-in-1 100% Pure Liquid that can be used as a toothpaste, mouthwash, and breath freshener. It fights plaque and tartar, while eliminating bad breath and supporting healthy teeth and gums. It is made of 100% natural oils: Peppermint Oils that are proven to have anti-bacterial properties that seep between the gum line, attacking bacteria and fighting dry mouth; Spearmint Oils that are proven to have anti-inflammatory properties that fight 22 known harmful bacteria in your mouth; and Almond Oils that give your mouth control over bacteria and allow your mouth to heal itself. OraMD is fluoride, alcohol and GMO free, containing no harsh chemicals, as well as no abrasives, like silica, originally found in almost all toothpastes.

Usually during the day if I haven't been drinking enough water, my mouth gets really dry and gross feeling, I tend to reach for the Tic Tacs to freshen it up. The mintyness from Tic Tacs only last but just a few minutes, which leaves my mouth wanting more. I know this is an awful habit to start, so I want to break it before it gets too bad and I have a mouthful of cavities from the sugar in Tic Tacs! I know, you may say, drink more water, but I actually drink a lot of water and still get that dry mouth feeling. OraMD is a good fix for this. The 1st time I tried it, it stung my entire mouth and even my lips!! (I accidentally used 2 drops instead of one) But I loved the after-mint and cooling sensation it left in my mouth, as well as feeling so fresh and clean. The next time I used it, I used one drop and remembered not to lick my lips right after lol. Much, much better! I've been using OraMD as a refresher when needed and found that it really works in keeping my mouth fresh! No more Tic Tacs needed :) The first few tries of using OraMD does taste a bit stout as instructions warn, but after you're use to it, it is a wonderful product. The mintiness lasts longer then mints and it leaves your mouth feeling so clean. I haven't used it as a toothpaste yet since I don't think my toothbrush isn't a nylon bristle kind, but I am pretty positive the results will be just as good! Plus it saves you a load of money!
Check out this Cost Comparison Chart of a one months supply:

OraMD is safe for everyone ages 3 and up. Including those with braces, veneers, bonds, crowns, fillings, and dentures. One bottle can last for an entire month if you follow their 5-step process,
using 2 drops per application.

You can purchase OraMD at trustedhealthproducts.com
for $22.97 for a single .5oz bottle.
You can also read more about OraMD and Trusted Health Products on their blog

The manufacturer is willing to offer my readers one FREE bottle. They said they would love to have our readers try out OraMD & agreed to send one bottle FREE if our readers would pay a minimal shipping & handling charge. This is a one-time only offer!  They also agreed to include 2 eye-opening reports called 1) “The 6 Hidden Dangers In Toothpaste” & 2) “Why The FDA Requires A Warning Label On Your Toothpaste.”  That’s a total value of over $40.00.  Click here to get your FREE bottle & FREE reports!

Energems Great Tasting Energy Review

Energems are little bite sized energy supplements that are in the form of a hard coated gem made with real milk chocolate. Their consistency and crunch is very similar to M&M's so they can be confused as candy, if a little one finds them. Be sure to keep them out of reach for this reason! These Energems contain caffeine as well as B-Vitamins and an energy blend to give them the appropriate shot of energy in each gem. One serving of 3 gems is equal to the caffeine in a cup of coffee, and each box contains 3 servings (9 gems) total. Each gem has only 15 calories and less then a gram of fat but
they pack a lot of energy for those times in need!

When I first tried the Energems, my goal was to only try 2 gems, but since they tasted so much like a giant M&M, I ate one more. They do have a bad after taste though, especially the peanut butter ones. The 3 gems gave me quite a boost of energy, as I'm not a usual caffeine consumer, so I can only imagine what more would do to me! If I have a lot to get done in the day, I think 3 gems is the perfect amount, but if I just want a little pick me up, 2 gems does the job. These almost seem to work better, and quicker then a cup of coffee so if you're looking for a fast pick me up, Energems really hits the nail on the head.

Just be careful if you're a chocoholic! They might leave you wanting more.
You can consume up to 9 gems for a maximum amount of energy, but I wouldn't recommend it.
Results will vary per person, so it is best to test it bit by bit.

Energems comes in three flavors: Chocolate, Peanut Butter and Mint
and can be found at a store near you. If they're not at a location near you, you can purchase them online at Energems.net for a 3-Box Variety at $8.50. Use NRGTOMO for 20% off, until 12/15/2013
or you can print out a $1.00 off coupon HERE.

Be sure to visit Energems on Facebook and Twitter for more information!
