Goodnight, Manger - Book Review

Disclaimer: I received the following product(s) in exchange for my review. All opinions my own.

Goodnight, Manger by Laura Sassi, illustrated by Jane Chapman is an adorable children's story to read around the Christmas season. It tells the story of Mary and Joseph trying to hush baby Jesus to sleep while staying in the noisy stable he was born in. From the itchy hay they are laid in, the angels singing hosanas, and the three kings bearing noisy gifts, little baby Jesus can't get any sleep! Mama and Papa, and every animal tries all they can to get the baby to sleep, but the noise is just too exciting to drift into dreams. Until Mama Mary finds a way for everyone, animals and people, to work together and get baby Jesus fast to sleep into 'peaceful dreams under the twinkling stars'.

The story is written in rhyming text, with a twist on thee classic manger tale, making it a fun read and a great bedtime story to read to your little ones. I love the illustrations in Goodnight Manger, and the added excitement. You can imagine what it would have been like when baby Jesus was born in the manger, and trying to coo him fast to sleep. This is a very cute read, it will make you want to grab your little ones, bundle up around the Christmas tree, and read all night long.

You can find Goodnight, Manger available for purchase at
